On Thursday evening, a devastating accident occurred on the Kitale-Eldoret highway, claiming the lives of three people and leaving others seriously injured.
The accident happened when a mini bus collided with a van carrying sheep, which was on its way to Nairobi for slaughter.
According to Kakamega County Commander Bernard Muli, the mini bus was traveling from Lwanda market to Matunda in Kakamega County.
Confirming the accident, Muli stated that the drivers of the ill-fated vehicles and one passenger died on the spot, while several others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Likuiyani Sub-County Hospital for treatment.
The injured were later transferred to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret for further medical attention.
