On December 25, 2019, Nation correspondent Dickens Wasonga received a chilling phone call from Sabina Kerubo, a senior police officer and state witness in the murder case of Eric Oloo, a Star newspaper reporter.

Mr. Wasonga had published articles about Oloo's death, which was found in Chief Inspector Kerubo's bedroom in Ugunja town on November 21, 2019.

According to Mr. Wasonga, Ms. Kerubo called him at 3 PM and warned that he would die the same way Oloo died.

Ms. Kerubo, who is now a state witness following a directive by Siaya Principal Magistrate James On'gondo, claimed that Oloo had banged his head on the wall, leading to his death.

However, the autopsy conducted at Sega Funeral Home by government pathologist Gabriel Juma revealed that Oloo died from excessive bleeding.

Mr. Wasonga reported the matter at Bondo police station under OB No. 28/25/12/19 and was assured that the police were following up the case.
