On December 25, a tragic incident occurred in Washington, USA, where two Kenyan sisters, Janet Oyuga and Angela, were shot by an 85-year-old woman they had been hosting.

According to police, Janet died on the spot, while Angela is fighting for her life at a hospital in Seattle, Washington.

As the community comes together to support the family, a group of Kenyans living in the area has started a fundraising campaign to help cater for funeral costs, transportation of the body to Kenya, legal fees, and hospital bills.

"We humbly request your prayers and financial contribution as we raise funds to send Janet's body back to her family in Kenya and meet other funeral costs," said Kenneth Oganga, the organizer of the fundraiser on GoFundMe.

As of December 25, the team has managed to raise over Sh 100,000 since the creation of the online platform account.

The assailant, an 85-year-old woman, has been taken into police custody and charged with premeditated murder and first-degree assault in the shooting of the two sisters.
