On December 27, 2019, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck Iran, according to the US Geological Survey.
The quake occurred near the Bushehr nuclear power plant in the southwest region of the country.
The epicenter of the quake was near Kalameh city, approximately 45 kilometers east of the Bushehr plant.
The earthquake struck at 5:23 am local time, or 1:53 GMT.
There were no immediate reports of damage, according to semi-official news agency ISNA, citing an emergency official.
