On December 19, 2019, police responded to a 911 call from a house in the US, where they found a gruesome scene.

Janet Oyuga, a Kenyan woman, was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds, while her sister Angela Oyuga was also shot and survived.

The sisters had hosted the granny, Beverly Jenne, after they bought the house at an auction.

Police believe Beverly killed Janet and then lay in wait for Angela to get home from work, shooting her in the back.

Beverly then attempted to commit suicide, leaving a note in her car that read, "I think she was getting ready to evict me, and I'm 85 and have no place to go."

"I think she was getting ready to evict me, and I'm 85 and have no place to go," read Beverly's note. According to investigators, Beverly had lived in the house since 1979, but it was foreclosed and sold in November 2019. The new owner allowed Beverly to continue living in the house while it was being renovated, and the sisters had entered into a rent-to-own agreement with the new owner. The family is raising funds to send Janet's body back to Kenya for burial.
