Kenya's tennis team made history in 2019 by qualifying for the Group Three Africa Zone tournament, a feat that has not been achieved since 1992.

The team, led by coach Rosemary Owino, stormed the Group Three Africa Zone tournament in September after ousting Madagascar 2-0, securing a spot in the Euro/Africa Group Two play-offs.

Kenya has been drawn against Indonesia for the March 2020 championship, a tough match that will determine the team's fate in the tournament.

Before the Davis Cup, the Kenyan team competed in the ITF Women Tour tournament, where they were eliminated in the quarters at Peponi School in August.

However, the team's performance in the East Africa ITF/CAT Junior Championships (East African Zonals) was impressive, with Kenyan players dominating the individual championships.

Okutoyi, a 21-year-old player, won the girls' 16 and under singles title, beating Hoziane Kitambala (BDI) in straight sets 6-1 6-2.

Other Kenyan players, including Derrick Ominde and Bradley Onsongo, also made a mark in the tournament, winning several matches and titles.

The team's performance in the East Africa ITF/CAT Junior Championships was a testament to their hard work and dedication, and it will be interesting to see how they fare in the upcoming tournament against Indonesia.
