On December 23, 2019, a tragic accident occurred at Jatomy Supermarket in Embu town, resulting in the electrocution of two workers.
The incident happened at 3:30 pm when the workers were installing a billboard on the second floor of the supermarket.
According to Embu County Police Commander Daniel Rukunga, the two men were pronounced dead on arrival at the Embu Level Five and Referral Hospital.
A third worker, who was hit by the shock and thrown to the ground, sustained serious injuries and is undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident and have condoled with the families of the deceased workers, wishing the injured worker a quick recovery.
