On July 5, 2018, Kensalt Limited and Patel Coffee and Estate Managing Director Perry Mansukh Kasangara appeared at Naivasha court, where a warrant of arrest had been issued against him and fellow businessman Manshukhlal Patel.
The warrant was issued over allegations that the two had forged a title deed for a 10-acre piece of land in Nairobi, valued at Sh10 billion.
However, in a recent development, Makadara law courts Senior Principal Magistrate Angelo Kithinji lifted the warrant of arrest following an application by their lawyer, William Arusei.
Arusei argued that the businessmen were not aware of the forgery case and that the warrant was issued due to a misunderstanding.
“There were no summonses served requiring them to appear in court. The court was misled into issuing the arrest warrants. They are ready to face their accusers when the time comes,” said Arusei.
The matter will be mentioned on January 6, 2020, and Patel and Kansagra have been directed to present themselves to court.
It is worth noting that Patel and Kansagra are also directors of Kensalt Ltd and Supplies, and are accused of forging the title deed of the disputed land.
