Christmas celebrations in Nakuru were filled with joy and unity as thousands of Kenyans flocked churches and entertainment joints to mark the holiday. The festive season also brought smiles to the faces of over 400 street children and the elderly, who were treated to a Christmas feast and gifts by the Community of Sant Egidio.

At the Catholic Diocese of Nakuru, Bishop Maurice Muhatia led a mass, calling on Christians to preach peace and unity. "All Christians should unite and thank God for His favour and to preach peace within their families, friends, and the country at large," he said.

Meanwhile, Apostle John Kimani of Kingdom Seekers Fellowship asked Christians to emulate the teaching of Jesus Christ, saying "The greatness of Christmas is not in the presents you receive but His presence." He also urged the leadership of the country to have the wisdom to provide solutions to issues affecting society.

Other Christians visited Subukia Shrines and Menengai Caves for prayers, while hundreds of families went to Lake Nakuru National Park to watch wild animals. The less fortunate also had a fun-filled day in Nakuru town, with the community of Sant Egidio serving them with meals and cutting a cake.

"We found it fulfilling to share our love with street children who feel isolated," said Francis Waithaka, the coordinator of the community of Sant Egidio.
