On a remarkable note, Rosemary Odinga, the 42-year-old daughter of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga, has made a full recovery from partial blindness that had plagued her for two years.
According to her father, Raila Odinga, Rosemary's journey to recovery was long and arduous, involving multiple hospital visits in various countries, including Germany, China, and South Africa.
"We got to a point where we nearly gave up as a family after unsuccessfully visiting many hospitals," Raila Odinga said, adding that it was only through the intervention of a herbal doctor in India that Rosemary was finally able to regain her eyesight.
"Doctors in South Africa had given up hope, saying she would never regain her sight," Raila Odinga revealed, but a friend's introduction to a doctor in India who used herbal medicine to help Rosemary recover proved to be the turning point in her journey.
Rosemary, a lawyer and entrepreneur, had been diagnosed with two aneurysms and a brain tumor, which was later removed in China after she initially sought treatment in South Africa.
During her difficult times, Rosemary relied on her other senses to navigate her surroundings, saying, "I felt alone and had to quickly learn to use sounds and movements of people to tell who was around me. Those were the most trying moments of my life," she said, adding that it was especially painful for her as a mother not to see her children.
