On December 25, 2019, Rosemary Odinga, a 42-year-old lawyer and entrepreneur, shared a heartwarming story of her miraculous recovery from partial blindness at a Christmas service at St. Peter's ACK Church in Bondo, Siaya County.
According to Rosemary, she had been battling partial blindness for two years, a condition that left her feeling alone and forced her to rely on sounds and movements to navigate her surroundings.
"I felt alone and had to quickly learn to use sounds and movements of people to tell who was around me. Those were the most trying moments of my life," she said, adding that it was especially painful for her as a mother not to see her children.
Her father, Raila Odinga, leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, accompanied her to the service and shared the family's harrowing experience of seeking medical attention in various countries, including Germany, China, and South Africa.
"We got to a point where we nearly gave up as a family after unsuccessfully visiting many hospitals before she was finally healed in India," Raila said, crediting a herbal doctor for Rosemary's recovery.
After being diagnosed with two aneurysms and a brain tumor, Rosemary underwent surgery in China, but it was the intervention of a doctor in India who used herbal medicine that helped her regain her eyesight.
