Chelsea's Premier League title hopes suffered a setback on December 26, 2019, as Southampton secured a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

Michael Obafemi broke the deadlock with his first goal of the season, curling a shot into the top corner after bursting inside from the right.

Frank Lampard's side struggled to break down Southampton's tight defense, and the visitors' second goal came after an impressive team move, with Nathan Redmond coolly finishing to silence the Stamford Bridge crowd.

The win marked a significant boost for Ralph Hasenhuttl's side, who rose to 14th in the table, three points clear of the relegation zone.

Chelsea, meanwhile, stay fourth with 32 points from 19 games and must pick themselves up for their visit to Arsenal on Sunday.
