On December 25, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Washington, USA, where two Kenyan sisters, Janet Oyuga and Angela, were attacked by their 85-year-old host, resulting in the death of Janet and severe injuries to Angela.

According to reports, the sisters had purchased the home on auction in November and were hosting the elderly woman, who later turned out to be the previous owner.

Janet died on the spot, while Angela is fighting for her life at a hospital in Seattle, Washington.

A group of Kenyans living in the area has started a fundraising campaign to help the family cover funeral costs, transport Janet's body back to Kenya, legal fees, and hospital bills.

Organizer Kenneth Oganga appealed for prayers and financial contributions, stating, 'We humbly request your prayers and financial contribution as we raise funds to send Janet's body back to her family in Kenya and meet other funeral costs.'

Additionally, Oganga mentioned that Angela's sister may need to travel from Kenya to care for her, as she will be unable to work for a while due to her injuries.

As of December 25, 2019, the fundraising campaign had already raised over Sh 100,000.

The assailant has been taken into police custody and charged with premeditated murder and first-degree assault.
