The Ministry of Education has released the 2020 school calendar for Kenya, outlining key dates for the academic year.
According to a letter sent to Regional Directors of Education on December 26, 2019, the first term for primary and secondary schools will commence on January 6, 2020 and close on April 10, 2020.
The mid-term break is scheduled for February 17 to 21.
Term two will start on May 4, 2020 and end on August 7, 2020, with a half-term break from June 15 to 19.
Term three will begin on August 31, 2020 and conclude on October 30, 2020, with no mid-session break.
Primary school pupils will attend school for a total of 38 weeks, while secondary school students will have 41 weeks of classes.
Standard eight and Form four candidates will sit for the Kenya Certificate of Primary School (KCPE) and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary School (KCSE) national examinations in November 2020.
The KCPE exams are scheduled for November 2 to 5, while the KCSE exams will take place from November 6 to 30.
