On December 26, 2019, Edgar Obare exposed a sex trafficking ring that had been preying on young Kenyan girls with modeling dreams.
The agency, posing as a legitimate modeling agency, promised to recruit and send the girls to Europe where they would earn €6,500 (approximately Ksh. 726K).
However, the agency's true intentions were far from innocent. According to anonymous submissions, the girls were subjected to awkward interviews that focused on their personal and sex lives.
The agency had no actual office, and the interviews were conducted at a restaurant along Ngong Road. Their sponsored Instagram posts were poorly made, with misspellings and mixed-up city names.
What's more, the agency's 'models' didn't have any social media pages, and the photos used were randomly downloaded from the internet.
When a sceptical girl dared to question the agency's suspicious features, she was met with an extremely rude response.
After heavy backlash, the scammers finally succumbed to pressure and changed the name of their Instagram account.
