Italian teenager Moise Kean has yet to score in 13 Premier League matches since joining Everton from Juventus in August for a reported 27.5 million euros ($30.49 million) on a five-year deal.
Despite struggling under former manager Marco Silva, Ancelotti, who took charge of the team this month, remains optimistic about Kean's potential, drawing parallels with Michel Platini's experience at Juventus in the 1980s.
“When I was a player I remember Platini arriving at Juventus from Saint Etienne (at 27). It took him six months to adjust and that was Platini,” Ancelotti told the British media.
Ancelotti, who will take charge of Everton for the first time against Burnley on Thursday, also cited his own experience with Hirving Lozano at Napoli, saying, “We should always be patient with young players.”
With Kean being just 19 years old, Ancelotti acknowledged that everything is new for him at Everton, but expressed confidence in the player's quality, saying, “He has fantastic quality and I’m sure he’ll be a top talent.”
