On December 25, 2019, a fatal altercation in Munyu village, Suna West Sub-County, Migori, left a 32-year-old man dead.

According to Chief Paul Yogo, the victim, Joanes Nyambo, was stabbed in the chest by his sister-in-law, Eunice Adhiambo, using a kitchen knife.

Yogo stated that the incident occurred after Nyambo allegedly attacked Adhiambo for being disrespectful to her in-laws, prompting her to defend herself.

Adhiambo, who is expectant, escaped on foot, leaving behind her two children, and is currently being sought by police.

Victor Onyango, a neighbour who responded to the distress call, said Nyambo died while being rushed to hospital.

Chief Yogo has called on residents to resolve their differences amicably and avoid resorting to violence.
