Kalonzo's True Intentions: Muthama Weighs In ¶
Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has fired a broadside at Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, accusing him of trying to sell out the Kamba community for personal gain.
Speaking at a Christmas service at Light Christian Church on December 25, Muthama said Kalonzo's decision to support President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 was a personal one, and not a reflection of the Kamba community's views.
'Hatua ya Kalonzo kumuunga mkono Rais Uhuru Kenyatta hata baada ya 2022 ni yake binafsi na wala sio mtazamo wa jamii nzima ya Wakamba, hizo ni semi zake binafsi,' Muthama declared.
Muthama also claimed that he was the one who had been saying Ukambani, and that he was part of a movement to unite the Kamba community and put them at the forefront of Kenya's politics.
His comments come just days after Kalonzo announced that he would be supporting Ruto's bid for the presidency in 2022, and that he would be working with other leaders, including ANC's Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya's Moses Wetang'ula, to achieve their goal.
It's worth noting that Muthama had previously accused Kalonzo of meeting with Ruto to discuss a possible alliance before 2022, a claim that Kalonzo had denied.
As the Kamba community continues to grapple with the implications of Kalonzo's decision, Muthama's comments are likely to add fuel to the fire.
