On December 25, 2019, the Odinga family attended a Christmas service at St Peter's ACK church in Bondo, Siaya County, where they received a miracle they would never forget.
Raila Odinga's firstborn daughter, Rosemary Odinga, had been battling partial blindness for two years, but on that day, she announced that she had fully regained her sight.
According to Rosemary, she had been through a tough time, feeling alone and having to rely on sounds and movements to navigate her surroundings.
"I felt alone and had to quickly learn to use the sounds and movements of people to tell who was around me. Those were the most trying moments of my life," she said.
Despite the challenges, Rosemary remained grateful for the support of her family and friends, who had been praying for her recovery.
"People would see me and think I was able to see because my eyes were 'wide open'. I am grateful for your prayers and support during those difficult times," she stated.
Her father, Raila Odinga, also spoke at the service, revealing that the family had almost given up hope of Rosemary regaining her sight after visiting several hospitals in Germany, China, and South Africa.
"We got to a point where we nearly gave up as a family after unsuccessfully visiting many hospitals before she was finally healed in India," he confessed.
Thanks to a doctor in India who used herbal medicine to help Rosemary recover, she was able to regain her sight after a month-long stay in the hospital.
"When she went back after two months for a check-up, the doctors were impressed by how fast she was recovering," an ecstatic Raila stated.
