Police in Migori have launched a manhunt for a middle-aged woman who allegedly stabbed her brother-in-law to death during a domestic fight.
According to Chief Paul Yogo of Suna lower location, the woman, identified as Eunice Adhiambo, had differed with her brother-in-law, Joanes Nyambo, 32, over family issues on the evening of December 24, 2019.
Chief Yogo stated that the deceased had wanted his sister-in-law to attend to him, but she told him she was busy peeling cassava, prompting him to start beating her.
She reacted by stabbing him on the chest with a knife she was using to peel cassava, and the neighbour who heard him screaming for help tried to rush him to the hospital, but he died on the way due to internal bleeding.
The suspect, who is pregnant, fled the scene leaving behind her two children and husband, and the police in Suna West Sub-County are pursuing her.
The body was taken to Migori County Referral Hospital for a postmortem, and Chief Yogo urged people not to resort to killing each other when they differ over issues in their families.
