On a tragic Christmas weekend, a 40-year-old man, Patrick Imusio, was arrested in Teso North, Busia County, in connection with the murder of his 16-year-old daughter, Faith Ijoni.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Friday evening, December 20, 2019, at Royco area in Amoni location.
Teso North Sub County Police Commander Wilson Muraya revealed that the suspect allegedly committed the crime after realizing his daughter had died and escaped to Malaba-Uganda.
‘According to our preliminary investigations, the suspect found his daughter playing with other girls from the neighborhood, whom he had warned her against associating with because of their bad behavior,' Muraya told Kenya News Agency.
‘This is said to have prompted him to clobber the girl several times with a stick before leaving her for death,' Muraya added.
The police boss cautioned residents against physically punishing their children, stating that the number of death cases across the country is on the rise as a result of such punishments.
