Published on December 25, 2019, Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has expressed his disappointment with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka's decision to support President Uhuru Kenyatta beyond 2022.
Muthama accused Kalonzo of auctioning the Kamba nation for his own political ambitions, stating that the former Vice President's actions do not reflect the will of the Kamba people.
Speaking at the Light Christian Church in Machakos during Christmas celebrations, Muthama declared himself the Kamba community kingpin, vowing to work towards catapulting the community to greater political heights.
He also announced plans to involve leaders such as Deputy President William Ruto, ANC's Musalia Mudavadi, and Ford-Kenya's Moses Wetangula in selecting a possible presidential candidate.
These statements came just days after Kalonzo urged the Kamba nation to unite in pursuit of meaningful political progress.
Earlier in December, Kalonzo denied allegations of being in talks with DP Ruto to form an alliance before 2022, following claims made by Muthama that he was ready to mediate a working formula between the two leaders.
