As of December 25, 2019, Nairobi City Stars were on a roll in the National Super League, having earned 43 points after 18 matches.

The team's Football Coordinator, Samson Otieno, attributed their success to timely payment of salaries and attractive bonuses.

"We are ready for the Kenya Premier League," Otieno said. "We motivate our squad by paying them on time, and we give them high allowances for every win."

City Stars had a seven-point gap between them and second-placed Bidco United, with 20 matches remaining in the season.

According to Otieno, the team planned to sign six new players to strengthen their striking department and central defense.

With a goal of reaching 93 points, City Stars aimed to win the title and secure promotion to the KPL.

As part of their strategy, the team had hired a foreign coach, Bosnian Sanjin Allegic, to instill professionalism and help them achieve their goal.

City Stars' next match was scheduled for January against Coast Stima.
