A tragic incident unfolded in Nguluni market, Matungulu Sub-County on Christmas Day, as a young couple was found dead in a rented house.
According to Nguluni senior chief Johnbosco Ndambuki, the woman's body was discovered on the bed, while the man appeared to have fallen off the roof, where he had hung himself using a mosquito net.
Chief Ndambuki suspected that the man might have strangled the woman before taking his own life, citing identification documents that showed the man hailed from Kathiani Sub-County, while the woman was a former student at Moi Girls High School in Nairobi.
Police have initiated investigations into the incident, and the bodies were moved to Kangundo Level 4 Hospital mortuary.
The couple had moved into the premises about 10 days ago, according to Elizabeth Syombua, the deceased's landlord.
