The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) mid-season transfer window is just around the corner, opening on January 1, 2020. As teams prepare for the second leg, several clubs have already begun shaking up their squads.

Wazito FC, one of the top teams, has parted ways with six players, including former Gor Mahia duo Abouba Sibomana and Karim Nizigiyimana, goalkeeper Gad Mathews Otieno, Mansoor Safi, John Mutua, and former Kariobangi Sharks winger Mathew Tayo Odongo.

The club is actively seeking replacements, with KCB defender Dennis Nganga reportedly set to join as their first major signing of the window. Nganga has fallen out of favor at KCB, with Kenyan international Dennis Odhiambo preferred as left-back, and youngster Bolton Omwenga providing cover.

Wazito FC is also reportedly chasing the signature of AFC Leopards midfielder Whyvonne Isuza, seeking senior players who can provide guidance and leadership in the unit. Meanwhile, dropped keeper Gad Mathews is said to be finalizing a move to Western Stima.

Other KPL clubs are also making moves, with Tusker snapping up winger Antonio Abwao on a three-year contract, and captain Clifford Ouma being a transfer target for KCB and Mathare United.

As the transfer window approaches, several players are on the move. Gor Mahia has all but lost Ivorian striker Gislain Yikpe to Tanzanian giants Yanga, and is finalizing a move for in-form Migori Youth striker Clinton Okoth, who has scored 14 goals in the National Super League.

The transfer window will be closed on January 31, 2020 at midnight.
