Al Duhail, the Qatar Stars League leaders, have made a significant signing in the form of Croatian international striker Mario Mandzukic.
Mandzukic, 33, has terminated his deal with Italian Serie A champions Juventus, which was due to expire in June 2021, and will continue his career in the Qatari top flight.
The experienced striker has previously played for German sides Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg, as well as Spanish club Atletico Madrid, and has scored 44 goals in 162 games for Juventus since joining them in 2014.
Mandzukic helped Croatia reach the final of the World Cup in Russia last year and scored in their 4-2 defeat by France in the title clash.
Al Duhail, who lead the Qatari top flight with 29 points after going 11 games unbeaten, are coached by Rui Faria, a long-time lieutenant of Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho.
