NTV news anchor Doreen Gatwiri has bid farewell to her colleagues at Nation Media Group, marking the end of her tenure at the company. In an exclusive interview with KISS 100, she revealed that today, December 25, 2019, would be her last day anchoring the Swahili segment, NTV Jioni.
Although she had previously announced plans to further her education, sparking speculation about her future at NTV, Gatwiri had categorically denied any intentions to leave the company. In a statement made earlier this year, she emphasized her commitment to her role, saying, 'Pursuing education doesn’t mean I want to leave NTV, I still have a lot to do in this space and thus I am staying put. Let’s cross the bridge when we get there.'
However, it appears that she has now crossed that bridge. In a poignant farewell message, Gatwiri told KISS FM, 'Today is my last day at NTV Reading tonight’s 7pm bulletin and I bid good bye on air.'
The Nation Media Group wishes Doreen Gatwiri all the best in her future endeavors.
