December 20, 2019, marked a significant day for Arsenal Football Club as Mikel Arteta was named the new permanent manager, succeeding Unai Emery who was axed at the end of November.
As part of Arteta's coaching team, Freddie Ljungberg will serve as an assistant boss, putting an end to speculation about his future at the club.
Albert Stuivenberg, a former assistant to Louis van Gaal at Manchester United from 2014 to 2016, has also been included in the backroom staff. The Dutchman is currently the assistant coach of Wales and will be expected to keep the role ahead of Euro 2020.
Others who have joined the team include Steve Round, who will work as an assistant to Arteta, and Inaki Cana Pavon, who has been brought in as goalkeeping coach and will work alongside Sal Bibbo.
Round brings a wealth of experience in coaching, having held positions with top clubs including Everton and Manchester United.
