On December 25, 2019, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka reiterated his unwavering support for President Kenyatta, stating that he and the Kamba community would remain loyal to him even after 2022.
Musyoka made this declaration during a meeting with Kamba leaders at his home in Yatta, Machakos County, where he emphasized the importance of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) in shaping the future of Ukambani politics.
"I have made a resolution that I and the Kamba community are not flip-flopping and where Uhuru will be even after 2022, we will be there. We are now engaging everybody as free gear," Musyoka said.
However, the meeting was attended by several Kamba leaders, but notable absentees included Governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Charity Ngilu (Kitui), and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), who have previously threatened to oust Kalonzo as the Kamba political kingpin.
