Oljorai Farm in Nakuru County has been at the center of a long-standing land dispute between two groups, with over 6,600 families facing eviction.

However, a court ruling has temporarily spared these families from their fate. On December 19, 2019, the Environment and Lands Court in Nakuru suspended execution of a judgment canceling their title deeds.

The court's order was issued following a notice of motion filed by the chairperson of Oljorai Community Farm Members, Peter ole Osono, and other members. They had moved to court under a certificate of urgency, expressing dissatisfaction with a previous judgment issued by Justice Sila Munyao on November 27, 2019.

According to Osono, the group is the legitimate owner of the land and their title deeds are genuine. He expressed fears that 6,800 families would be rendered homeless if Solai Ruiyobei evicts them.

The judgment by Justice Munyao followed a 12-year legal battle between members of the Ol Jorai and those from Solai Ruiyobei Farm and Lands Limited over an 8,018-acre parcel of land in Kiambogo, Gilgil Constituency.
