Kenya has lost a matriarch with the passing of Martha Kirigo Gachagua, the mother of Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua.
Martha Kirigo Gachagua, who was 89 years old, passed away on December 23, 2019.
Her son, Rigathi Gachagua, announced her passing on his Facebook page, describing her as a loving mother who had a profound impact on his life.
"Our mother Martha Kirigo Gachagua left us yesterday, although it's a difficult time for us as a family, we thank God for the days He gave us with her," Rigathi Gachagua said.
"Her 89 years were truly a blessing, and she was a unique mother," he added.
Kenyans have been sending condolences to the Gachagua family, urging them to find strength in their faith during this difficult time.
