NRG Radio has confirmed that Jamaican reggae and dancehall artiste Buju Banton will perform live in Nairobi on Saturday, February 8, 2020, after a social media campaign by his Kenyan fans.
Initially, Buju Banton was scheduled to perform in Mombasa on New Year's Eve during the NRG Wave show, but the fans' relentless demands to switch the performance to Nairobi have been successful.
NRG Radio announced the change on Twitter, saying, 'We heard you & It's OFFICIAL the Legend @bujubanton has ACCEPTED our request & he will now be performing in NAIROBI on the 8th February 2020.'
On his official Instagram account, Buju Banton also announced the new development, marking it as his first time performing in Africa.
He will be joined by popular UK reggae band UB40 at the Carnivore on the same date.
