Former AFC Leopards captain Soter Kayumba has parted ways with the 12-time Kenyan Premier League champions, joining Rwandan giants Rayon Sports.

According to Rayon Sports' official Twitter account, Kayumba signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with the Rwandan side.

He joined his new teammates in a training session yesterday.

Kayumba left Kenya two months ago, citing 'difficult living conditions' after Ingwe failed to pay his salary arrears, which ran into three months.

He becomes the fourth foreign player to part ways with broke Leopards, following the departure of Malian Ismailla Diarra, Burundian Tresor Ndikumana, and Vincent Habamahoro of Rwanda.

The Kenyan side is undergoing lean financial times, with players owed up to five months' salary arrears, a situation that could force several players to look elsewhere when the January transfer window opens in a week's time.

Club chairman Dan Shikanda has said that the club has lined up 'able' replacements.

Leopards are seventh on the KPL log with 22 points, six behind leaders Gor Mahia, and will next play host to Zoo FC at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on January 4th, 2020.
