On Monday, Arsenal's new manager, Mikel Arteta, emphasized the need for accountability among his players, stating that they must take responsibility for their actions on the pitch if they are to be part of the club's future plans.

Arteta, who will make his managerial debut when Arsenal travels to Bournemouth on Thursday, expressed satisfaction with the team's performance in their 0-0 draw at Everton on Saturday, citing improved body language and passion from the players.

"I think that we have a really good team with a lot to improve," Arteta said. "I need them all on board. All the meetings we've had is to get everyone on board and so far I'm very happy with the reaction."

Arteta also confirmed that interim boss Freddie Ljungberg, who took charge for six games following Unai Emery's sacking, will stay on as a member of the coaching staff, stating that they had decided it was best for him to continue with the team.

Regarding midfielder Mesut Ozil, Arteta said that he was a part of his plans, despite Ljungberg's unhappiness over Ozil's conduct during Arsenal's 3-0 defeat by Manchester City earlier this month.

Arteta's comments come as he looks to put his own stamp on the team and move forward from the recent setbacks.
