Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hailed Paul Pogba as the 'best all-round midfielder in the world' following the Frenchman's return from a long injury layoff.
On December 22, 2019, Pogba made his first appearance since late September as a substitute in Manchester United's 2-0 defeat at Watford.
Despite the loss, Solskjaer was impressed with Pogba's performance, saying, "Let's see how he reacts to this, how he feels. He did really well when he came on. Big, big plus and it might be that we do get him in from the start."
With Pogba's return, Solskjaer is considering starting him against Newcastle on December 26, 2019, as the team seeks to break down stubborn opposition defenses.
"He can play anywhere, he can play the whole midfield," Solskjaer said of Pogba. "He's a box-to-box midfielder. He can drop deep, get it, play long passes. He can get it higher up and combine like he did today."
Manchester United is currently struggling in eighth place in the Premier League, seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, but Solskjaer remains optimistic about the team's prospects.
