Kenya's Immigration department has suspended passport issuance services until Friday, December 27, 2019, due to unscheduled maintenance.

According to a statement from the department, the suspension was necessary due to unavoidable circumstances.

Thousands of Kenyans have been lining up at the immigration offices countrywide to acquire the new e-passports ahead of the phasing out of the current non-electronic passports.
