Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho has spoken out about the impact of Son Heung-min's three-match ban on the team's Premier League campaign.
Speaking on Monday, Mourinho acknowledged that Son's unavailability due to the ban would be a significant loss for the team, particularly given their limited squad size.
'It would be a big loss, we don't have a big squad,' Mourinho said. 'We don't have lots of players.'
He also expressed his disagreement with the decision to refer the incident to VAR, stating that referee Anthony Taylor had seen the incident clearly and that the call was 'the wrong one.'
'Taylor had the feeling, he was there, he saw it clearly so I think it's the wrong call,' Mourinho said.
Furthermore, Mourinho defended the Tottenham Hotspur fanbase, stating that the entire fanbase should not be condemned for the alleged racial abuse directed at Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.
'It's not fair to say Tottenham fans. One Tottenham fan is not Tottenham fans,' he said.
He praised the Spurs fans for their respectful behavior towards opponents, saying 'Tottenham fans, at least since I am here... have been phenomenal... respecting the opponents. Incredible behaviour.'
