On a festive note, a matatu driver and his conductor are set to have the Christmas of their lives after being awarded a brand new 32-seater matatu valued at Sh. 5.2 million by Vivo Energy Kenya.
The duo emerged winners in the 10-week Weka Collabo promotional campaign, which aimed to reward loyal customers and sensitize matatu drivers, conductors, and 'Boda Boda' riders on Shell fuels and lubricants.
Launched in December 2019, the campaign saw 15 consumers being awarded with motorbikes valued at Sh. 4.5 million.
According to Vivo Energy Kenya Retail Manager, Badawi Reda, the public commuter transport sector continues to drive economic development in Kenya, providing service to millions of Kenyans daily.
Speaking at the campaign's launch, Badawi Reda noted that the campaign provided opportunities for the youth to consider 'Boda Boda' and matatu business as alternative sources of income.
Country Marketing and Consumer Care Manager Mark Senteu emphasized the importance of empowering the youth to contribute to the socio-economic development of the nation.
