Police in Kenya have arrested a 23-year-old man who allegedly killed his wife after she suspected him of infidelity.
The incident occurred on December 23, 2019, at the couple's home in an undisclosed location.
According to reports, the wife, Omuhereza Katwesigye, had confronted her husband after she received a suspicious phone call, which she believed was from his lover.
Enraged, the husband allegedly attacked his wife with a jembe, leaving her with severe head injuries.
Police spokesperson Julius Hakiza confirmed the arrest and said that the suspect is currently being held at a local police station, awaiting charges of murder.
"The investigation is ongoing, and we have sufficient evidence to charge the suspect with murder," Hakiza said.
The couple's marriage had been troubled, with reports of frequent arguments and allegations of infidelity.
Police have collected evidence and are expected to present their findings in court soon.
