As the holiday season approaches, many of us face a daunting challenge: managing our mental well-being amidst the chaos and stress of family gatherings and social events.

According to experts, one of the key factors contributing to holiday stress is the presence of unresolved psychological issues within our families. 'Our families are the ones that install our 'buttons,' so therefore they know exactly how to push them,' says Ms. Kaufman. 'It is essential to try to understand what feelings feel authentic to you and not take on others' feelings.'

Healing wounds and managing emotions requires a combination of relaxation techniques, coping skills, and support from loved ones. 'Identify and call on the individuals in your life who provide positive support,' advises Ms. Ortiz. 'They are your community.'

Adriana Alejandre, founder of Latinx Therapy, recommends body scans and meditation to help manage stress. 'Maybe you need to take a deep breath right now,' she suggests. 'Maybe you need to take a walk, or create some space from this person.'

Additionally, experts warn against the dangers of excessive alcohol consumption during the holidays. 'Our body is constantly trying to seek balance,' says Holly Whitaker, CEO of Tempest. 'So, if we're flooding ourselves with a depressant, the body is counteracting that by flooding it with cortisol, which essentially creates anxiety rather than lessen it.'
