On Sunday night, a wanted fraud suspect was apprehended by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) sleuths at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi.

According to DCI, the suspect, Jackson Njau Kinyanjui, was arrested upon landing from the United States. Immigration officers at JKIA intercepted him and handed him over to DCI detectives.

When questioned, Kinyanjui claimed he had been cleared to travel abroad after securing his passport from Milimani Law Courts following his previous arrest.

Issued on July 22nd, 2019, the arrest order accused Kinyanjui of fraudulently benefiting from the Arror and Kimwarer dams scandal, in which KSh.21 billion was allegedly lost.

As a former director of resource mobilization at the National Treasury, serving under suspended Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich's tenure, Kinyanjui has been detained for further investigations to continue.
