Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia are facing a crucial period as they battle for the top spot in the league. With financial troubles biting hard, there were fears that head coach Steve Polack might not return to the country after his Christmas break in Britain.
However, the club's assistant general manager Ronald Ngala has moved to calm nerves, assuring that Polack will indeed return on 30th December.
“Pollack will come back, we talked and he didn’t show any signs of not coming back so we are sure that he will be back after Christmas,” assured Ngala.
Polack's absence will only affect the team for one game, against Posta Rangers on December 26. Ngala is confident that the players' morale will not be affected, as they have been informed of Polack's temporary leave.
The reigning champions have played 11 matches and have three matches to go to catch up with the rest of the pack. They top the log on 28 points, same as second-placed Tusker, and could go nine points clear should they win all the matches.
Ngala intimated that the team is working hard to retain the top spot, and they are optimistic about their chances.
