December 20, 2019, marked the beginning of a social media campaign by fans of Jamaican reggae artist Buju Banton, popularly known as Mark Anthony Myrie, to persuade the promoters of the #NRGWave Show, NRG Radio, to bring the artist to Nairobi.
The hashtag #BujuAkujeNairobi has been trending on Twitter, with fans expressing their desire to attend the reggae legend's first live show in Africa.
NRG Radio has confirmed that they are in talks with Buju Banton and are exploring the option of him performing in Nairobi, in addition to his scheduled show in Mombasa on December 31, 2019.
