On Monday afternoon, a Subaru driver narrowly escaped death after their vehicle crashed into the Nairobi River along Outering Road.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver was speeding and failed to notice a bump, which caused the vehicle to lose control and fly into the river.
The driver sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital, but the car is a write-off.
Work on upgrading the eight-lane Outering Road began in 2015 and was completed in 2018.
Outering Road is notorious for fatal accidents and is a busy route that connects to the Thika Superhighway, Jogoo Road, and Mombasa Road.
As the road has seen numerous accidents, an eyewitness called for the bumps to be clearly remarked to prevent such incidents in the future.
