Ababu Namwamba, a key figure in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has vowed to support Deputy President William Ruto in the 2022 general election.

Speaking at the Isambo Beach Festival in Che, Budalang'i, on December 22, 2019, Namwamba expressed confidence in President Uhuru Kenyatta's commitment to supporting Ruto.

According to sources, Uhuru and Ruto had agreed to support each other for the next 20 years.

However, there have been speculations that Uhuru's relationship with Raila Odinga might affect his commitment to supporting Ruto.

Ababu Namwamba, who was the ODM secretary general until 2016, said he had no fear of walking with Ruto until 2022.

"We are all here together. We are with you (Ruto) and we will be behind you until the end. Remember, we started this journey in 2017, even if it was delayed," Namwamba said.
