On December 21, 2019, Bayern Munich defender Javi Martinez suffered a muscle injury to his right thigh during a 2-0 Bundesliga victory over VfL Wolfsburg.
Interim manager Hansi Flick revealed that Martinez will be unavailable for at least six weeks, describing the injury as 'major' and 'very bitter.'
According to Bayern's statement, Martinez will miss their upcoming training camp in Doha from January 4-10 and is a doubt for the clash against Hertha Berlin when the Bundesliga restarts after the winter break.
