On December 23, 2019, Shaffie Weru, a popular radio personality, was involved in a terrible car accident in a Mercedes Benz G class. The vehicle, which belongs to Fred Gumo's family, was badly damaged in the collision with a lorry.
Shaffie was riding in the car alongside his friend Mike, who was behind the steering wheel. The accident left Shaffie shaken but lucky to be alive.
Speaking to Mpasho, Shaffie Weru expressed his gratitude for being alive, saying, 'The lorry rammed into the car. I am very shaken. He was lucky because that car is like an armored car otherwise ingekua story different, I have realized life is very precious.'
Shaffie was captured at the accident scene trying to assist where possible. The incident sparked concern among the public, with some mistaking the car for Jeff Koinange's, which is a similar version. However, Jeff Koinange clarified the mix-up on his Facebook account, writing, 'To everyone calling, I'm fine. Thanks for checking up.'
