Motorists are advised to plan their routes carefully as a section of Mbagathi Way will be closed from Friday to Monday to allow for the demolition of a footbridge.

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced that the road will be closed for motorists from 6am to 6pm for all four days as the contractor demolishes the existing footbridge to pave way for the construction of a new modern one.

According to KURA, motorists are advised to use alternative routes, with traffic coming from Lang'ata Road through Mbagathi Way diverting at Mbagathi Road and joining Mtongwe Road, proceeding up to Mbaruk Road before joining Muchai Drive then onto Ngong Road at Coptic Hospital.

On the other hand, traffic coming from Ngong town via Ngong Road will proceed up City Mortuary Roundabout, exit and join Ngong Road again then drive up to the Muchai Drive diversion.

It's worth noting that the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) had earlier issued a statement notifying the public of the closure of a section of Thika Superhighway at Witeithie from Sunday to Tuesday, with the road closed from 11pm to 4am due to the planned erection of a footbridge.
