On December 23, 2019, a 73-year-old man from Busia, Francis Ouma, made headlines with his claim that God sent him 5 new commandments to replace the Biblical 10 commandments.
Ouma, who claims to have been instructed by God, says he has been building a 24-room tunnel for over 50 years in preparation for the second coming of Christ.
According to Ouma, God directed him to a room where a tablet with the 5 commandments was dropped. The commandments are:
- Love God Your Creator
- Love Jesus for his resurrection in this world
- Appreciate your being as a human by making money
- Only two segregations in the world, a man and woman
- Only worship one God
Ouma believes that humanity's rebellion against the Biblical 10 commandments has angered God, prompting the need for new laws.
“I woke up one day and found a copy of these new commandments in one of the rooms and I knew it was Jesus who brought it as he had promised because human beings have corrupted and disobeyed the ancient laws given to Moses,” Ouma said in an interview with BBC.
