Inter-clan clashes in Narok County, Kenya, have taken a deadly turn, with renewed violence erupting on Sunday, December 22, 2019, between the Siria and Eruasingishu clans.
According to reports, ten young men were arrested in possession of bows and arrows, sparking concerns that they were preparing for another retaliatory attack in the area.
The arrest came just a day after fresh clashes erupted in the area, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuries to 15 others.
Narok Governor Samual Ole Tunai condemned the violence, calling on community elders to broker peace and ensure harmonious coexistence between the two clans.
Heavy security agencies have been deployed to conduct an operation in the area, which is deemed to be most volatile, with a General Service Unit (GSU) camp proposed to be set up at the border of the two warring clans as a buffer.
